2001 Kettle Cup Race

The Troop 175 River Rats successfully defended their Championship in the Annual Kettle Cup Race, with a record 5 teams (20 racers) competing.

In the senior division, the Team of Brad Bradbury, Chris Lapsley, Tim Muller and Matt Smith took overall first place with a two day time of 4:42:10, a winning margin of 37 minutes. Also in the senior division the team of Kyle Arslanian, Steve Earnshaw, Chris Garten and Brandon Lapsley finished in fourth place overall with a two day time of 5:20:47. They where nudged out of third place by only 3 seconds.

In the Junior division, the team of Noah Arslanian, Ryan Lapsley, Matt Muller and David Young finished in first place with a two day time of 4:31:45. Placing third in the Junior division was the River Rats Team consisting of Cam Bergstresser, Ryan Hoelper, Michael McColligan and Richard Shulman with a two day time of 5:20:58.

The River Rats also fielded a team in the girls division. Our team consisted on Christine Bradbury, Joanie Bradbury, Anne Good and Sarah Kelly. A special thanks goes to the River Rats Coach Griff Marshall.

Note: The Kettle Cup race is a two-day event. Day one consists of a 20-mile sprint (15 miles for Junior Teams) on the Delaware Canal. Day two consists of the running of 20 gates. The two-day's times are combined for overall scoring.
